💫 About us: the power of Kroepies

Kroepies started small, selling a few stuffed animals. We quickly realized how special it is that a stuffed animal can mean so much: a companion, a comfort, a piece of childhood memories.

The name Kroepies comes from my children, my nephew and niece. They always give each other "kroepies," their own word for hugs. In Frisian, oankrûpe means "to hug."
How wonderful is it that that very word now forms the basis for a place where second-hand cuddly toys and cuddle cloths find a new home?

At Kroepies, it's all about attention to detail, quality, and meaning. Each cuddly toy is carefully selected, cleaned, and packaged with care. No mass-produced items, but consciously chosen products with a story.

What makes Kroepies extra special is that we truly do it together. My sons help unpack, sort, and sometimes even wash the stuffed animals. Sometimes in the washing machine, but some also with a small bowl and a little shampoo, right at the kitchen table. My oldest son can even recognize different brands now.
Doing business together, with fun and a bit of chaos, that's part of it.

Sometimes I also collaborate with my twin sister, so we can offer a wider selection and develop new ideas. Like wall stickers that give memories a place on the wall.

We believe that even the smallest differences make a big difference: careful selection, loving attention to detail in everything we do. Whether it's a child rediscovering their favorite stuffed animal or a parent wanting to preserve a tangible memory, Kroepies is all about something that lasts.
